Having reviewed our current provision for blended learning we have decided to make some changes based on student successes and other needs that have arisen due to increased cases of Covid-19 in the school population. These changes are part of our usual review of provision and enable us to respond to the needs of all children.

Below is our revised plan on how we are intending to support children with barriers to learning who are isolating due to a positive PCR test.   Students who have an EHCP/My Plan/My Plan+ will continue to work towards their individual outcomes and all students we work with/alongside will still have regular contact with the team over the coming weeks.  We appreciate your continued support as we are continually learning and developing our skills and knowledge of how to support students through blended learning.

All students will mainly be supported through the Quality First Teaching from their class teachers.  Teachers will make best endeavours to plan and differentiate work for your child using their pupil passports and their recommended strategies to ensure that they can access all learning materials and activities.

We acknowledge the difficulties of remote learning on all families and we will work with parents and carers in supporting students during this difficult time.

How The Inclusion Hub are supporting your child isolating due to a positive PCR test (updated September 2021)

Students will follow their regular timetable.

Teachers will continue to make best endeavours to plan and differentiate work for all students using pupil passports, recommended strategies and knowledge of your child to ensure that all barriers to learning are minimised and that they can access all learning materials and activities to the best of their ability.

We will provide students with Intervention work via Teams (students will have access to “The Hub” Team).  This work will be focused on boosting their skills in areas that have been identified as requiring additional support.  These will NOT be live lessons, but accessible during their small group/1:1 intervention time.

For some students support in the core subjects (English, Maths and Science) will be with their usual class teachers via Teams.  Additional support may be available from our specialist learning mentors for some students during Core Subject lessons.   The member of staff may have changed but the support remains in place.  Teachers may deploy support staff as appropriate using Teams.

  • Year 10 and Year 11 students, who have been previously accessed The Hub during option subject lessons, will now have shorter ‘Catch-Up chat’ sessions with a member of the team and use their allotted intervention time for independent learning.  This independent learning will be discussed during the catch up time and monitored by the Learning Support Team.  ‘Catch-up chat’ sessions will be held during the morning from 8:30am onwards and will not go on beyond 9am, in order for students to be able to join Live Team lessons.  Learning Mentors will be in touch with your child to arrange suitable days for these.

Year 10 and Year 11 students who have Study Support can use this lesson time for catch up, study time and homework task completion.
