Wyedean Principal Rob Ford moving onto exciting new post as ‘Director of Heritage International Group’
With effect from 31 May 2019, Rob Ford, Principal at Wyedean School and Sixth Form Centre, will be leaving Wyedean to become the Director of the Heritage International Group, based in Eastern Europe with schools in several countries. The flagship school and group’s headquarters is in Moldova.
Rob has made a huge positive impact on Wyedean in the 4 years he has been Principal.
The Chair of Governors commented: “We are delighted for Rob and grateful for all his work and vision and the consequential successes he has brought to Wyedean. It is a school like no other, with happy students and staff, where all individuals can better themselves in a caring and supportive community and much of this ethos is the result of Rob’s tireless and expert leadership.”
Wyedean’s growing success in recent years, evidenced by a “Good” OFSTED judgment in January 2018, a broader curriculum than ever, improved results matching those of the selective grammar schools in other parts of Gloucestershire and increasing student numbers. For Year 7 in September 2019, Wyedean is over-subscribed again and based on a ratio of applications to places, the most popular school in the County. We are also proud of the school’s culture of “outward facing”, extensive partnerships, national and internationally recognised global education as well as the wide recognition we have for our holistic approach towards our rich curriculum.
Wyedean has a very strong and experienced Leadership Team, ably supported by a brilliant team of support and teaching staff which is effective from 1 June 2019 the Board of Governors has appointed Senior Vice Principal (Academic) Gwennan Jeremiah to the post of Interim Principal. Ms Jeremiah will fulfil this role until September 2020 and applications will be sought for a permanent Principal thereafter in January 2020.
The Board of Governors is confident that Ms Jeremiah, her Leadership Team and entire staff will maintain Wyedean’s exciting upwards trajectory as the first choice in the area for non-selective, comprehensive secondary education.
We wish Rob every success for the future.
