Careers
Statement of Intent
Wyedean School and Sixth Form centre Careers Department seeks to provide wholly impartial advice and guidance, resources and opportunities. We aim to help students to achieve career aspirations relevant to their academic strengths and interests and to support them with their choices throughout.
We are striving to make Wyedean Careers Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) accessible to students and we actively encourage and welcome parental involvement.
Wyedean Careers programme is evaluated annually using the Careers and Enterprise Company Compass evaluation tool. The programme is reviewed internally on an annual basis in the spring term. This review is carried out post Compass evaluation by the Careers Lead and Assistant Principal/Director of Sixth Form in the summer term.
Next evaluation will be undertaken in the Summer 2023

Having taught at Wyedean since 2007 and seen a tutor group from year 7 - 11, I have grown with the school and have an understanding of the needs of our students. This coupled with my background in recruitment gives me a rounded perspective from the points of view of both student and employer. In 2011, I was appointed Careers Lead at Wyedean and continue to work hard developing our provision making it accessible and effective for our youngsters.
All staff understand that they are the most important part of the Careers team. Heads of Year are responsible for the delivery of PSHEE curriculum.
We are a friendly and approachable team comprising:
Laura Watkins: Assistant Principal / Director of Sixth Form / SLT Careers Link
Frances Meredith: External Level 6 accredited advisor
Nic Andrzejuk: Careers Administrator - andrzejukn@wyedeanschool.com
